Action on heavy vehicles parked overnight in residential streets
There has been an ongoing problem with privately hired refuse vehicles parking overnight on residential streets around Elder Road, Norwood Park Road and Eylewood Road. This anti-social behaviour is affecting quality of life in the area. To make matters worse, the trucks have been started up in the middle of the night and woken people as early as 4am.
Carl raised the matter with Lambeth Council and asked for enforcement action to be taken if it happens again. Large vehicles weighing over 7.5 tonnes are not allowed to park overnight on aany street in Lambeth and council officers have assured us that signs will be fitted in affected streets to make these rules clear. If it does happen again the Council will be able to enforce the ban and fine the owner.
Problems like this can be reported to Lambeth Council’s emergency out-of-hours enforcement service on 020 7064 4739.
