Road safety on St Louis Road and resurfacing on St Gothard Road

As you might know, we have been pushing the Council to improve road safety on St Louis Road.  We are especially concerned about speeding and pedestrian safety at the wide junctions.

Recently, we again demanded that the Council “get a move on” and take action.  In response, council officers have assured us that before the end of March they will distribute to residents a copy of their plans for consultation.

We encourage residents within the consultation area to reply.  If the plans are acceptable we will demand swift action by the Council; if the plans are not acceptable to residents we will demand a re-think.

We have also forcefully reminded the Council of its promise to resurface St Gothard Road – the junction with Rommany Road is especially bad.  We have been assured that when the house building on Vale Street is complete the road will be resurfaced.  We intend to hold the Council to its word.
