Campaign to save traders in Gipsy Hill Station

Carl, Andrew and Suzanne are supporting the campaign to save the cafe and dry cleaners in Gipsy Hill station
The Gipsy Hill community is working hard to save the two businesses – Sun Rise Café and Under Pressure Dry Cleaners – in Gipsy Hill Station, and we would like to give you an update of our campaign.
The station is to be modernised. The café would have to move on to a platform, if it survives at all, and the future of the Dry Cleaners is still less clear: we understand that communication from the train company has been sparse.
We have written to Lambeth Council to establish whether the development plans as they stand require and have planning permission. We have also written to the Council asking for legal advice for these small businesses. We have met Southern Rail once, and we will meet them again, to put the case for continuity of service.
We are keeping the two managers, Clare and Sara, fully aware of developments. We will also keep residents updated on this site and by letter. If you would like more regular updates, please contact us by sending an email to carlbelgrove@gmail.com.
