Upper Norwood 20mph zone

Carl, Andrew and Suzanne have been working with residents concerned about ‘rat-running’ cars to secure a 20mph zone for Upper Norwood’s residential streets.  After urging the Council to take the problem seriously for several years, at last our views have been heard and the introduction of a zone in part of the Upper Norwood area within Gipsy Hill ward has now secured funding from TfL.

The council published the consultation documents in November with details about the new zone and the traffic calming measures that mayaccompany it.  Hard copies should also have been delivered to residents by council officers, but you can also download copies from our website by using the links below.

We understand that not all traffic calming measures are popular and urge you to have your say in the consultation before the deadline on 4 December 2009.  We will work with council officers to ensure that the views of all residents are taken into consideration and that road safety in the area is improved.  Let us know your views on the proposals by contacting Carl on carlbelgrove@gmail.com or filling in the reply box below.
